What a great commercial

So, i have a new favorite commercial. It starts with a little boy getting $10 for a gift and one of his parents telling him to put it into a safe place. Then it shows the boy finding other things like a skeleton key, a ring, a baseball card, a frog... And the mom goes out to the minivan to put the back seats down. She opens the storage compartment for the seats in the floor. And there are all the boy's treasures. The boy found a safe place. Oh, yeah, the commercial is for the minivan or whatever vehicle it is. Dodge I think.

Adventures

So, yesterday... I'm out for a walk in the neighborhood. I came across a curb side mail box... painted red with lobster claws, face, and tail attached to it.

Today, I'm downtown for lunch with a friend. Get outta the minivan and in the grass... I find a Coca Cola bottle from Mexico.

Then... about an hour or two later... I'm taking a walk in the neighborhood again. I found an orange bead and a dime. (Oh, I also found two pennies by the restaurant i had lunch at.)

I'm easily "adventured".

Haven't forgotten to muse...

I'm still here, there, where-ever the universe puts me.

Kinda not realized it's been SIX FRIGGIN MONTHS since my last blog entry on fAiRy CaT's MuSiNgS.

Oh well. Six months... six weeks... six days... six hours... six minutes... six seconds. Time that matters is right now.

Gripping the handlebars tightly
Feet pedaling furiously
Up and down Grandpa's drive
That was joy for me

No cares in the world
Save how fast I could pedal
No clear destination
I'd let the wheels decide

Life was only as hard
As a skinned knee in summer
Gotten from turning too fast
Or going over a bump

Yet I always got back on
Cuz I loved that free feeling
Of zipping around aimlessly
As little boys are meant to be

Walk way

I took this photo in 1987 for an Intro to Photography class. It is a walk way on the back of a building that sits next to a river in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Not exactly the safest of walk ways as the railing was busted up. But it caught my eye, particularly the way the shadow of the bent railing landed in the middle of the walk way.

So... i'm out there... No turning back...
well, okay... I can turn back if I want.
But I don't want to.

Musings...

I've been considering starting a blog for a couple weeks. One idea was to do an art blog to just get some of my art out there. Another idea was to write about my spiritual journeys, experiences, and energy sensitivity. A third idea was to do one that provided organizing tips. I'm quite skilled at organizing... events, living spaces, work areas...

And as I pondered and pondered and procrastinated about which idea-trail to follow...

It occurred to me... why not one blog with all 3 and more...

Muse - a mythical being who inspires - often in relation to the arts (One of my earliest encounters with these characters was the Olivia Newton-John movie... Xanadu).

Musings... a contemplation, meditation... pondering, reflecting... (I loved the musical Cats... and there is reference to contemplating, deep in thought in some of the lyrics).

Fairy Cat's Musings... it fits.

(Okay, it's about a half hour later...
and now that I see how easy blogging is...
maybe I will do more than 1 blog...
And I forgot to mention... comic books.
