I taught myself to shave

Last week while flipping channels... I caught a bit of Oprah. It was about a group of high school students who did this diversity training thing. One of the boys talked about his father leaving the family and then mentioned ... he had to teach himself to shave.

And it hit me. That's what I had to do. My parents divorced before I was in kindergarten, and my father was not around to teach me stuff like that. I taught myself how to shave.

In the early hours of 2008

It's around 7 a.m. The new year has begun.

I'm operating on less than 4 hours sleep. We got home from a nice party around 12:15 a.m. And I was wired and couldn't sleep. So, I got up surfed the web a bit, and went back to bed an hour later. About 4:30 or so, I woke up again. A touch queasy, too. - so I got up for some pepto and have been up ever since.

2008 is a leap year. And it is an election year. An extra day and an inevitable change in government and politics. But that's kinda on a larger scale than just little ol' me.

In 2008, I am already starting with a plate that is just a tad emptier. And change is happening. The house is in the midst of construction with a large addition and several new rooms and renovations happening.

What do I want for 2008? Good health. Good friends. Good love.

And movement forward... that's kinda hard to explain, but I know what i mean and that's what counts.

Blessings to all who read this. And all who might if they knew about it. And, heck... blessings to all...
